The Allan Brooks Nature Centre in Vernon, BC, is a fantastic destination for children to explore and learn about nature. Our team was on site for a guided nature tour and was extremely impressed by the friendly staff who handled a group of youngsters exceptionally well. Their staff will keep your little or big ones actively engaged and learning all about ecosystems and wildlife in the Okanagan. Highlights of our trip included exploring pond life and meeting an adorable turtle!
Allan Brooks offers an array of scheduled events and also the option to casually pop by if you are in the area to explore for yourself! Kids can delve into the Discovery Room and Habitat Room, featuring engaging displays and hands-on activities. The Grasslands Trail offers a chance to spot local wildlife, including marmots and songbirds. The centre also offers birthday party packages and educational field trips and classroom programs.
This summer they are offering enriching summer programs for kids, including Nature Camps and Summer Nature Talks. The Nature Camps are designed to immerse children in the wonders of the natural world, with themes such as "Nature Scientists," "Growing Up Wild," and "Nature Explorers." These camps provide hands-on activities, educational games, and nature-based crafts. Additionally, the Summer Nature Talks which are free to attend feature experts discussing various environmental topics, offering both kids and adults a deeper understanding of local wildlife and ecosystems.
